Wining & Dining

Our personal favorite restaurant in Woodstock! Excellent Italian food in a cozy atmosphere. There is also a family style table in the middle of the restaurant which makes this a unique place (there are private tables as well of course). Service is great too!

The Bear Cafe

The Bear Cafe (located in Bearsville, near Woodstock) has a really great atmosphere, fun bar and is beautifully situated on the creek for streamside dining. It's probably the most expensive place in the area but the food is worth it. The Bear Cafe is located in the Bearsville complex which also offers entertainment at the Bearsville Theater where there are many great concerts and other events.

The Little Bear

Very good chinese food, directly on the stream next to the Bear Cafe in Bearsville. Open for lunch which is hard to find in the area - definitely one of our favorite places!

The Red Onion

Located on Route 212 a few miles past Woodstock towards Saugerties and a few miles before New World Home Cooking. The Red Onion has an excellent atmosphere and offers great bistro food. Also a great bar.

New World Home Cooking

A bit further down Route 212 (from Woodstock to Saugerties), New World offers an eclectic international menu with very good spicy food (also great vegetarian and fish dishes) and a great bar. Rick Orlando is the chef, and it's well worth the extra driving!

Located in the center of Woodstock on 51 Tinker Street, Joshua's offers Middle Eastern food. Great for brunch!

Phoenicia Diner

Located on Route 28, just before the town of Phoenicia (a left out of the Motel driveway and only a few miles down the road), the Phoenicia Diner is the ULTIMATE place for breakfast and lunch! A MUST for at least one of your breakfasts or lunches during your stay!

Peekamoose Restaurant & Taproom

Great place! We love this restaurant. It's located in Shandaken about 15 miles west on Route 28 past Lazy Meadow on the left. The Peekamoose Restaurant also has an excellent bar and outdoor firepit - very lodgey!!

Owners, Devin and Marybeth Mills, hail from New York City's finest restaurants: The Hudson River Club, Picholine, Le Bernadin, Guastavino's, Remi Restaurant and the famed Gramercy Tavern.

Seeking to move closer to the farms supplying their menu, they have beautifully restored this country farmhouse, set among the bucolic Catskill Mountains. The restaurant supports local growers by changing their menu daily, to represent the freshest ingredients available.

Tavern 214

Farm to table gastro pub, Tavern 214 is located in Phoenicia on Route 214. Great food and good atmosphere.

The Pines

Perhaps the closest to our place with a very fun bar! The Pines is located in Mount Tremper, only a mile or so away from Kate's Lazy Meadow, and is open for dinner on Thursday through Sunday.
